Terms Entered in Search
When a visitor enters a name, location, or other term in a search tool, that request passes to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Gladwin County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own system. The provider receives and processes the query under its own privacy practices. Visitors should review those terms before sending information they consider sensitive.
Email and Contact Messages
An email or contact-form submission may contain the sender’s address, name, and any details placed in the message. We retain that material as needed to read the request, reply, and manage the exchange. Contact messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law. Sending a message does not create a request under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 through 15.246, with the Gladwin County Sheriff, Michigan Department of Corrections, a court, or any other agency.
Technical Visit Details
Ordinary web systems create a limited technical record whenever a page loads. This information helps the site operate, measure traffic, and diagnose faults. It may include:
- The visitor’s Internet Protocol address
- The browser name and version in use
- The device category and operating system
- Pages opened and time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is provided
- Date and time stamps for requests
Cookie Controls
Cookies are small browser files used to understand how visitors move through the site and to support certain functions. A browser can reject, delete, or limit cookies through its settings. Blocking them may cause some tools or page features to behave differently. Cookie controls on a visitor’s device do not govern files placed by a government portal or another website after the visitor follows an outside link.

Outside Sites and Advertising
Pages may link to the Gladwin County Sheriff, Michigan courts, the Michigan Department of Corrections, parole or probation resources, federal or immigration custody tools, and third-party search services. Those destinations are separate systems. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s privacy policy and data practices control the visit. This Privacy Notice does not govern a government portal, search provider, or other outside website.
Some advertising partners may use their own cookies or similar technology to recognize activity across different sites and tailor advertising. That tracking occurs on the partner’s systems, not on the local system operated for Gladwin County Released Inmates. A visitor can review the advertiser’s privacy controls and use browser or device settings to limit available tracking methods.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may still reach a limited service provider or public authority when needed for the function described or when the law compels disclosure. Those recipients may include:
- Search partners that receive and process submitted queries
- Analytics services that measure visits and page use
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order
Safeguards and Their Limits
We use standard, reasonable practices intended to protect the information handled through the site. Access is limited where practical, and technical systems are maintained with security in mind. No website, network, email exchange, or Internet storage method is fully secure, however. We cannot promise that an unauthorized event will never occur or offer a breach-proof guarantee. Visitors should avoid placing confidential or unnecessary personal details in a contact message.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult learns that a minor submitted personal data, that adult may contact us and request its deletion. We will review the request and remove information that can reasonably be identified in our possession.

- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask that eligible personal information be erased
- Opt out of certain processing when that choice applies
